Usually I just wing it -- off the cuff, on a whim. Today I actually prepared a bit.

'off the cuff' と 'on a whim' を同時に出そうとして 'on the off the cuff' が爆誕。両方知ってるのに混ぜた。wing it が一番短い。

It's not a real one... it's not a final product.

recap は過去形。down→downed。音読時の時制落ちだけ。

There's a second paper just for baseball -- it grabs last night's games and writes a two-or-three-sentence recap. 'So-and-so homered as the Mets downed the Royals 6-2.' Baseball plus English in one hit.

自作MLB紙を音読しながら学べる、の実演。'I'm so into baseball' が自然。落ちたのは downed の ed だけ。

That's the smart part -- you're not studying English, you're reading about something you'd read anyway. Who's your team?

A normal paper is just what someone else decided was important. So why not edit my own? Circulation: one. The only subscriber is me -- but it might be the best-fitting paper in the world.

I told the AI to go heavy on vocabulary, so it's deliberately academic. What's your take -- any errors, or anything that reads oddly?

So it's just pompous filler. Setting grammar aside -- what actually goes through your mind reading it? What's your take on the content?

Right -- we're taught to kill time. Hustle culture. And half of office work is fake work: pretending to be busy. On the train, 90% are glued to a screen; nobody's just thinking.

'Fake work' is the perfect term. Consulting was the worst for it -- people staying three extra hours just to look busy on their phones.

Happy people don't... only when you're unhappy.

There's a line I love: 'Be kind, because everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.' Happy people don't lash out -- that only happens when you're miserable. Cruelty just boomerangs. It's a spiral you can't climb out of.

It's often self-defense, though -- a kind of schadenfreude flipped inside out: 'if I can't be happy, you don't get to be either.'

They're unhappy, so they blame everyone -- a spiral. But positivity is contagious too; stay authentic and you end up surrounded by good people. I pity the angry ones -- it's a habit, they're stuck. But who am I to preach? So I smile, back off, and just don't invite them into my orbit.

'Don't invite them into my orbit' -- love that. Boundaries without the drama. The trick is doing it without going cold yourself.

'grew up like a weird family'→grew up in a family。'a resentment'→resentment(不可算寄り、a を落とす)。

Take the tech billionaires -- Musk, Thiel. Loaded and powerful, but full of anger and resentment. My South African teacher said Musk grew up in a strange household -- his dad was off somehow -- and he's carried this constant simmering anger. Maybe that's what drove him to the top.

Maybe. He left South Africa right as apartheid ended -- grew up with that 'the country worked so well' myth, ignoring that it only worked for five million people out of sixty.
