When you see him pound 16 Bud Lights and not a slur, not a stammer, nothing, doesn't miss a beat, puts the sunglasses on.

一拍おいた、ちょっと間を置いた。答える前に考える瞬間の描写。for once は「今回ばかりは」で、普段は正直じゃない自覚がにじむ。
And uh he was on the beach all day and I was at the house.
I called it early and I was just kind of chilling out inside with McCusker uh and Tommy watching a movie.

早めに切り上げた。call it は「そこで終わりにする」。飲み会を先に抜けた時に I called it early と言えば角が立たない。

場を盛り上げる中心人物、宴会の主役。日本人は mood maker と言いがちだが、それは通じにくい。英語ではこっちが定番。

陽気な酔っ払い、飲むと楽しくなるタイプ。逆に絡むタイプは a mean drunk。酒癖を一言で言える便利な形。

ほろ酔い。drunk の手前。日本人は何でも drunk と言いがちだが、軽く酔ってるだけならこっちが正確。

And he goes to the doctor cuz he's like, "I think I have food poisoning or something."
Like something's wrong, right?
食中毒、食あたり。I think I have food poisoning で「何かにあたったかも」。旅行先で本当に使う。

ありえないほどの耐性。unreal は「現実離れした、すごすぎる」で、口語の褒め言葉。tolerance は酒や薬に強いこと。
