HALIFAX (3 April)—Marram Couriers will move its downtown deliveries onto electric cargo bikes by the end of June, replacing six of the nine vans that now serve the port district. — [1] —

The company began testing two bikes in November, after the city narrowed Chandler Street to a single traffic lane. Riders matched the daily stop count of the van drivers in four of the five test weeks, and parking fines for the tested routes fell to zero. — [2] —

I bought six of these chairs for a small studio after trying one in the showroom. Assembly took eleven minutes each, and the tools come in the box.

The mesh is firmer than the model on display. That suited two of my colleagues and not the third.

What surprised me was the delivery. The order came in three separate boxes over nine days and nobody told me it would be split. The company replied to my message within the hour and refunded the second delivery charge, so the mark I have taken off is for the packing, not for the service.

Work to modernise the two passenger lifts will begin on Monday 6 July and is expected to last nine weeks. — [1] — Only one lift will be out of service at a time.

The lighter jar came through your filling line without trouble at 180 jars a minute, but two of the six pallets sent by road showed cracked shoulders. Our engineers believe the fault lies in the corner protection of the pallet rather than in the glass itself; the same jars reached Belfast on a pallet of a different design with no losses at all.

We would like to run a second trial in April using the reinforced corner post. If the figures hold, you could move the whole apple range to the lighter jar before the autumn season and take about nine percent off your freight weight.

Every inbound delivery must be booked through the supplier portal at least twenty-four hours ahead. Slots are grouped by what the vehicle carries.
